We are just Not Falling for it!

Persistence in admission and resolution

Ms P, a lady of considerable age, was visiting her son’s flat to deliver some letters when she experienced a serious fall down an external flight of concrete stairs. The accident resulted in major injuries, including broken ribs, a fractured femur, concussion, and delirium, among others. The cause of the fall was due to a missing section in one of the stair steps.

Ms P chose to instruct personal injury solicitors to represent her on a no win, no fee arrangement. We promptly supplied the solicitors with all the necessary evidence and details required for reporting and then awaited a response from the local council.

The solicitors were able to share the positive news that the local authority had admitted fault. Following this, arrangements were made for relevant medical appointments and further necessary actions.

Trusting our instincts, we requested all correspondence between the solicitors and the local authority. What was notably absent from the solicitors’ communications with Ms P was their intention to settle the matter immediately. This oversight led to embarrassment for the solicitors, and they subsequently withdrew from the case.

Throughout the process, we remained steadfast in our efforts to obtain all relevant information from the local authority. Our persistent approach ensured we did not simply accept the admission of liability as the conclusion of the matter. We remain vigilant, always going above and beyond to advocate for our clients at every stage.
